ABOUT OUR CLASSES
The Fresh Foundation is a hands-on DJ school designed to turn beginners into active amateur DJs in just eight weeks per level. With structured programs from Beginner to Advanced, plus specialty courses in Turntablism, Scratching, and DJ Recording, students learn real-world skills using Serato and Ableton Live. Our mission is to build confident DJs who are ready to perform, create, and grow.

Beginner DJ Course — What You’ll Learn
The Beginner DJ Course is designed for students with little to no prior experience and focuses on building a strong foundation in DJ fundamentals. Over eight weeks, students learn how to confidently navigate DJ equipment and software while developing the core skills needed to mix music smoothly.
Students are introduced to beatmatching, basic transitions, and song structure awareness, including an understanding of bars, measures, and phrasing. Emphasis is placed on clean, seamless mixing, timing, and maintaining musical flow between tracks.
The course also covers DJ software navigation and workflow, teaching students how to properly organize music libraries, build crates, set cue points, and prepare tracks for performance using industry-standard tools like Serato DJ.
By the end of the course, students will be able to perform basic mixes with confidence, execute multiple transition styles, stay on beat, and understand how DJs structure and control a set—setting them up for continued progression into the Intermediate level.
Intermediate DJ Course — Class Summary
The Intermediate DJ Course builds on foundational skills and focuses on consistency, control, and creative development. Students refine beatmatching and transitions while learning how to structure longer, more dynamic DJ sets.
The course introduces advanced phrasing, smoother transitions, energy control, and set planning, helping students move beyond basic mixing into intentional performance. Students also improve music organization, cue usage, and workflow using industry-standard software like Serato DJ.
By the end of the Intermediate course, students are able to mix confidently for extended periods, control energy throughout a set, and prepare for real performance environments, setting the stage for Advanced-level mastery.

Advanced DJ Course — What You’ll Learn
The Advanced DJ Course is focused on performance mastery, creative control, and real-world readiness. Students refine advanced mixing techniques, complex transitions, and long-form set construction while learning how to read and control energy in a live environment.
The course emphasizes advanced phrasing, timing precision, and musical storytelling, along with creative use of effects, loops, cue juggling, and performance techniques. Students develop the ability to adapt on the fly, recover from mistakes, and maintain crowd engagement throughout an extended set.
Students also learn professional DJ workflow, including set preparation, recording high-quality mixes, and performance polish using industry-standard tools like Serato DJ and Ableton Live.
By the end of the Advanced course, students are capable of delivering confident, performance-ready DJ sets, creating original transitions, and operating at a level suitable for gigs, events, and real-world DJ opportunities.
