Level 1: Build the Foundation

Kickstart your DJ journey with The Fresh Foundation’s hands-on Beginner Course. Designed for absolute beginners, this 8-week program introduces you to essential DJ skills and tools in a professional studio setting. No prior experience needed—just bring your passion for music.

  • DJ Gear 101: Controllers, headphones & software

  • Beatmatching Basics: Sync songs by using BPM and tempo slider

  • Cueing & EQ: Learn how to prepare tracks and shape sound

  • Intro to Mixing: Practice smooth transitions and volume control

  • Track Structure: Understanding basic measures & sounds

  • Software Skills: Get familiar with Serato DJ

Now that you’ve built your foundation, it’s time to refine your style. The Intermediate Course dives deeper into mixing techniques, transitions, performance flow, and crowd awareness. Students learn to create cohesive sets and build confidence behind the decks.

  • Set Building: Plan and organize 15–30 minute performance sets

Course Overview

The Advanced Course is built for students serious about going pro. You’ll master creative mixing, live performance strategies, and DJ identity. Expect real-world scenarios, live set rehearsals, and mock performances with instructor feedback.

  • Live Remixing & Mashups: Combine acapellas, instrumentals, and loops

  • Double Time Mixing

  • Mixing Pace 

  • Signature Style: Define your sound, vibe, and DJ identity

  • Crossing genres/ Open Format mixing

  • Performance Techniques: Stage presence, mic use, and confidence drills
