We recognize that there are many DJ software options out in the market and can seem confusing as where to start.
Here at The Fresh Foundation, we teach our DJ program using the industry standard software of 20+ years called SERATO. We use this as a jump point to learn and compare in this constantly evolving DJ industry.
Recommended DJ equipment for beginners
We understand that getting into DJ'ing can get pretty costly & you will need DJ equipment to practice your lessons at home. That's great if you already have equipment, just make sure it is SERATO compatible.
For an alternative, we have provided a few links to some pieces of equipment that you can order that won’t cost too much, especially if you're just starting out. The only thing you need to have is a Laptop (MAC or PC). You can always find used laptops rather cheap online. We recommend a computer no older than 10 years old.
The controller suggested below provides a free version SERATO DJ LITE, though it has limitations. We strongly suggest that you subscribe to the FULL Version of SERATO DJ PRO. Good luck!
**If you do not have a laptop then you are unable to take class.
